Blackboard System Issues on Tuesday, July 22nd
The system as a whole was down for a couple of hours yesterday. When the system failed our back-end support team applied a "patch" supplied by Blackboard. The patch resulted in a period when users were unable to open documents within learning modules. The patch was removed and a different solution was found. The PSU Online team recommends that give your students the benefit of the doubt in relation to any assignments, quizzes or work that was expected of them on this day.

New Course Management System coming in Spring 2008
Beginning Spring Term 2008, most courses now using the WebCT4 course management system will be taught using Blackboard CE6. This conversion will enhance the PSU online learning experience by offering new tools and functionality. The new course management system is also more intuitive and easier to use.
If you have any questions or concerns about the process, please don't hesitate to contact blackboard@pdx.edu. OIT and CAE will continue to send out updates and specific dates as they become available. If you would like to be notified of upcoming Blackboard migration events, please join the announcement email list at bbnews@pdx.edu.
The following provides more specific information on the conversion to Blackboard CE6.
