Troy Lakey
Post-Baccalaureate Student "Some people say that you don't make personal connections with other students if you aren't face-to-face. I disagree with that, I had several long in-depth discussions with my fellow students during my online course. It was done via discussion boards, which allowed everyone to contribute thoughtful responses and share new resources and websites. I learned a lot from my co-participants. I made excellent connections with people I had never met face-to-face, we even shared parenting stories. Online courses let me have the flexibility to spend time with my kids and complete projects when it was more convenient for me, usually after they went to bed!" |

Michele Gester
Graduate Student "I felt a part of a learning community, even though I live 250 miles away from campus and across the country from some of the other students. I appreciated being able to work, go on vacation, and still be able to keep up with my school work. PSU's online classes were well-taught, the curriculum was excellent and the experience was positive." |

Graduate Student "I strongly recommend online learning at PSU. I experienced a challenging, in-depth, well taught course, which as an educator, raised the bar modeling the highest standards." |

Nancy Gourdoux
Post-Baccalaureate Student & Second Grade Teacher "My E-learning Instructional Strategies class has helped me help my children. I am free to do some individual and small group work while other children are engaged in the required science learnings. They enjoy doing the unit I created and are learning a lot more than if I were trying to teach them whole group.
Here you see a second grader helping two first graders with the “Captain Kid” unit." |
