Course Tools: Content Delivery, Activities, Assignments, & Assessments

Whether a course is delivered in the classroom or online, content is typically presented to students in various ways, and they are then often assessed through completion of assignments, written papers, quizzes, and participation. In Blackboard you will find tools which enable content to be delivered with ample flexibility, and those for assessing students in fulfilling course learning objectives. In this workshop, you will learn how to identify, manipulate and use standard course tools in Blackboard, including assessments, assignments, learning modules, SCORM objects, web links, and the media library. The workshop format is presentational, with an opportunity for questions and answers, and time to practice with guided activities to facilitate your understanding.

• identify the full set of Bb course activity and content tools
• manipulate Bb course activity and content tools by selecting appropriate settings for desired behaviors
• distinguish between individual tool settings and resulting system behaviors
• select appropriate course activity and content tools for an online course
• apply appropriate teaching techniques to arrange and deliver course activity and content tools
